We are a full service architecture and interior design office based in New York, Western Massachusetts and working the Hudson Valley, Berkshires and beyond. We aim to elevate the quality of people’s lives through architecture by creating spaces that inspire discovery. Our approach is simultaneously exploratory, technical, and responsive to requirements of the project and sites on which we build. Our process intuitively reveals possibilities latent within every brief over a range of project types and scales including urbanism, buildings, houses, renovations, additions, interior design and furniture. THREE IN ONE
Hudson, New York

The large wooded lot and Eastern view of the Berkshires and Taconic range were too good to pass up despite the size and quality of the exisitng structure. Out brief was to update an existing modular as well as adding a primary suite, music studio and two car garage. 

The existing house is tucked away in a small opening among field of trees. We expanded the footprint, creating  three volumes connected by passageways that join distinct functions into one cohesive home. 

By opening the original facade to let light flood the living/dining/kitchen area, what was once a dark and undesireable space is transfored into space that blurs the boundary between interior and exterior. To the rear of the lot is a side entrance that allows access to the existing house’s mudroom, the studio and garage as well as the new primary suite.
